The Settlement Grants Programs (SGP) provides support and settlement assistance to newly arrived migrants, refugees and humanitarian entrants living in St George and Sutherland areas; so they become self-reliant and participate equitably in Australian society.  Our program is mainly funded by Department of Immigration and Citizenship Australia.

The SGP team provides case work and information services/workshops support for individual, family, women, men and youth on settlement services such as social security/Centrelink, housing, employment and training, family support, recreational activities and others. As part of its community development activities, it also runs special projects and other annual regular events such as Refugee Week, Migrant Information Day and others. SGMRC is currently offering the Nepalese community settlement support services through our Nepalese Support Program.

Other sessional services provided by co-located agencies or outreach services include legal advice, immigration advice, Australian hearing, tax help and domestic violence court advocacy service. All these services are free of charge and are available in various languages.
